Its the month of August and the sun is definitely not disappointing. It's been gorgeous all weekend; the perfect excuse to celebrate. Thank God for summer!
A few months back we created our first-ever dessert table for the Esin's Baby Shower. We must have struck a chord with mum-to-be, cos once her baby boy was born, we were invited back for his Christening.
A lot of people associate cakes with birthdays, so it came as no surprise when a little boy at the Christening party asked, "Mummy whose birthday is it?" It got me thinking; 'What is Christening?' The word Christening is used interchangeably with Baptism and it marks the start of a lifetime of discovery about Christianity (a relationship with Christ). Its a journey through the hills and valleys of life, not on your own, but with God. (ref: Church of England)
So as cakes are a sign of celebration in Birthdays, it's definitely worth celebrating the start of a journey with God.
Congratulations once again to the Esins!
Baby Zane, welcome to the fold :-)
