To my ever faithful fans and dearest cake lovers, it really has been a minute since my last post. Trust me when I say I haven't been ignoring you. It's just been that busy.
In the midst of all the cakes in my oven, yours truly was baking a personal "bun" in the proverbial "oven", and in the early hours of a special Monday in Autumn my little angel was born. So I hope I'm forgiven for my absence.
With the arrival of my baby boy, I've been fortunate enough to meet an incredible set of ladies and gents who have babies born in the same period as my little guy. I now have a new found respect for "Parents". Whether through adoption or natural birth, having a kid is a whole different ball game.Sleepless nights, countless nappy changes, frequent visits to the GP to get assurance about any and every issue, latching issues, bottle rejection, rashes, teething pains and the list goes on... but amidst all this lies those special moments... first cuddle, first burp, first smile, first laugh, first roll, first time sitting up, first time grabbing items, first crawl and so on.
Regardless of this new chapter, it was barely 8 weeks after delivery that I was back gradually churning out cake beauties with my little guy cheering mummy on, or at least that's what I think he's doing :-)
So I dedicate this post to Parents worldwide, whether you currently have a bun in the oven, or if your bun is already "baked"; THUMBS UP, you're doing a fantastic job ;-)
